In the 1980s, two women who worked together decided to seek God, sacrifice their lunch hour to do a daily prayer walk until God gave clear instructions. From that exercise came an inspiration for a home gathering of women to study the scriptures, pray and encourage each other to grow and use their gifts.

The Holy Spirit was invited to move and He did! A core group of seven women was established. In many wondrous ways the Lord confirmed His plan, through answers to united prayer for each other and the Christian community. A fresh outpouring of the Spirit of God was fervently sought and what emerged was a tight knit group of faithful prayer warriors with a fiery mandate from heaven to equip women for leadership, disciple them for ministry and train them to stir up their spiritual gifts.

Planning one day seminars called, "Advances" became the next step. These events were themed as the Holy Spirit led and were inspired with creative ways of expressing and illustrating God's Presence through pageantry, dance, drama, art, poetry, prayer, worship, new songs, music and teachings. The audiences were encouraged to participate in workshops and followup cell group meetings to ensure further training and growth. Everyone was encouraged to be a contributor and not just an onlooker. Each woman was considered to be a distinctive masterpiece of the Creator's design and therefore had a great destiny to be discovered and released. A circle of friendships formed around members with an outpouring of prayer and encouragement so that each could reach her potential.

By word-of-mouth the popularity of the Chandelier Advances grew to reach a city-wide audience representing many different denominations. The meetings were soon packed with hungry and thirsty women seeking more of the Lord's Presence and new creative ways to express their gifts. The Glory of the Lord descended on our efforts. His Blessing was tangible, answers to prayer and miracles resulted.
